Batelão or Regatão is a typical Amazon barge boat with low draft and wide beam powered by a small outboard engine used almost horizontally. They are covered with wood planks and move in very shallow waters to transport goods. They are used by traders who live from trading and selling goods for riverside people. They trade goods as fans, radios, hardware, tools, beverage and food as rice, beans. In change they collect fresh fish, live animals, fruits and craft work.
