Angelim-Vermelho (Dinizia excelsa Ducke) also known as Angelim, Angelim-falso, Angelim-ferro, Dinizia-parda, Faveira-dura, Faveira-ferro.

Maybe the largest tree in the Amazon, reaching 60 m high with a diameter of about 2 m or more. Found in forests across the Amazon in sand-clay land, in senior virgin forest, sometimes forming small groups.

Heavy, hard to cut and high resistance to attack by organisms. Very good resistance to fungi and termites and good resistance to insect in soil contact. Used in construction, beams, roofing, floorboards, floorboards, door frames and windows, sleepers, poles, fences, pillars, cars and boat building.
