The Cutia or Cotia (Dasyprocta agouti) is between 50 and 70 cm. Seven species inhabit the Brazilian territory. The Cutias are rodent mammal who live in the forests and barns, leaving the evening to feed on fallen fruits and seeds of trees. The head is slightly elongated with relatively small ears. It features four front teeth long and curved. The tail is short and naked with about 1.5 cm long. The front legs are much smaller than the later and exhibit functional four fingers used to bring food to the mouth. The hairs are rough, hard and long. The Cutia buries food in several places within its territory.
